hey there...
From my daughter’s healing journey to my own, Reiki became both a calling and a way to restore peace, balance, and connection — one session at a time.
Located in Shoreline, Washington Melissa is a Reiki Master trained in the traditional Usui lineage under Sue Averett. Founder of Serelune, she offers gentle, intuitive Reiki sessions that blend grounding practices with crystal energy to support deep relaxation, balance, and connection to the higher self.
In addition to her private practice, she hosts retreats for Reiki practitioners as well as women seeking rest, renewal, and deeper connection. Her work is rooted in the belief that while modern medicine heals the body, energy healing nurtures the soul — creating space for wholeness, peace, and transformation.
My Story
My journey with Reiki began during one of the most challenging seasons of my life. As my daughter approached the end of her brain cancer treatment, I saw firsthand how the grueling process had taken a toll on her body — and how little support existed in the traditional medical world for healing and recovery afterward.
In searching for ways to help her body and spirit restore, I explored naturopathic and homeopathic modalities. That search led me to Reiki, and I felt an immediate pull toward its gentle yet profound ability to support the whole self. Determined to learn the traditional methods, I sought out a teacher directly connected to the Usui lineage and trained with Sue Averett of Whidbey Island Reiki, completing three levels of Reiki to become a Reiki Master.
My style of Reiki is gentle, intuitive, and at times psychic — receiving visual cues or messages related to the healing at hand. I often incorporate grounding practices and guide clients into an alpha brainwave state, similar to meditation, to deepen their relaxation and receptivity. I also use a crystal-filled eye mask and weighted blanket containing rose quartz, amethyst, and quartz to help amplify and direct natural energies.
While Reiki is an intuitive energy healing modality that naturally flows where it is needed — physically, emotionally, or spiritually — my intention is for each client to leave feeling whole, peaceful, and in harmony, more connected to their higher self, and supported in whatever intentions they bring to the session.
Traditional Western medicine treated my daughter’s cancer, and I will always honor its power to heal. Yet I have also come to believe in the profound ability of energy healing to support transformation. While logic and reason dominate much of our thinking, miracles and emotional healing are, by their nature, often beyond explanation — yet they still exist. This belief forms the foundation of my work with Reiki, and the heart of what I offer at Serelune.
